1. Beeswax and turpentine essence to make wooden floors shine

With this natural preparation, you can make all wooden furniture shine without leaving scratches or altering its color.

It is made with beeswax and turpentine essence, two ingredients with an oily consistency that leave surfaces smooth and bright.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup of grated beeswax (50 g)
  • ¼ cup of turpentine essence (62 ml)

Preparation

  • Put the grated beeswax in a saucepan and melt it in a double boiler.
  • As it heats up, mix well with a spatula or wooden spoon.
  • Once melted, remove it from the heat and mix it little by little with the turpentine essence.
  • After obtaining the desired mixture, pour it into a container with a screw cap.
  • Optionally you can add flavored essential oils, to mitigate the smell of turpentine essence.

How to use

Take the necessary quantity and spread it on the floor or on the furniture with the help of a microfibre cloth.

2. Olive oil and lemon to clean the furniture

For dull and aged-looking furniture, this olive oil and lemon based rinse aid is your best bet.

Natural fats make the surface shine and  create a protective layer against dust. On the other hand, lemon has a disinfectant action, which allows them to be left well cleaned.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of olive oil (167 g)
  • ¼ cup of lemon juice (62 ml)

Preparation

  • In this case you can use refined olive oil, as we will not use it for aesthetic or medicinal purposes.
  • Add it to the lemon juice and make sure you mix them well.

How to use

Spread the product on the surface you want to clean with the help of a microfiber or cotton cloth.

3. Vaseline

Vaseline is a derivative of petroleum whose consistency allows us to leave the lacquered furniture that has become opaque as new.

It can be combined with a little alcohol to remove any type of dirt or residues of accumulated grease.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of Vaseline (45 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of alcohol (20 ml)

Preparation

Put the vaseline in a container and mix it with the alcohol, until a homogeneous product is obtained.

How to use

Spread a thin layer of product on floors or wooden objects and proceed with a clean cloth.

4. Rinse aid based on almond oil and white vinegar

This natural brightener is a good alternative for  cleaning wood in poor condition or with hard-to-remove stains. 

It is a great solution against these marks left by glasses and against the loss of gloss of the lacquer.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup of almond oil (250 g)
  • ¼ cup of white vinegar (62 ml)

Preparation

Pour the almond oil into a bowl and mix it with the white vinegar.

How to use

Apply the product on the wood and spread it vigorously with a cloth or cloth.

5. Linseed oil
