The avocado seed has antibacterial properties. For this reason, it is ideal when you suffer from skin irritation, hair and oily skin or dandruff. In general, it has a positive effect on the tone and condition of the skin and hair.

Before using avocado seed
- Remember that before it can be exploited, the stone must be deprived of its brown peel and it must be left to dry.
- After removing the peel, chop it and put it in the oven at a low temperature for an hour.
- Drying a whole seed, on the other hand, takes about 2 hours. In any case, at the end it will be necessary to reduce it to powder.
- It is not recommended to use it without having first passed it in the oven.
1. Exfoliating
In order to use it as an exfoliant, you will first need to grind it into a powder.
- Once you have the powder, mix it with a little coffee and salt.
- Apply to the skin with a gentle massage.
2. To “dry” the skin
The avocado stone is useful for fighting pimples and other blemishes.
- Mix the ground seed with a little warm water, until you get a paste.
- If you want, you can add a few drops of tea tree (with antifungal properties).
- Apply this cream on the pimples and leave it on for 4/6 minutes. You will see that they dry up quickly.
3. Beauty mask with avocado seed
- To make an avocado seed mask, you need to mix it with the powdered clay.
- Add water until you get a cream; apply it on the skin being careful not to bring it close to the eyes.
- Let it act for a quarter of an hour, rinse and finish with a little moisturizer.
4. Hair lotion
- To make a softening hair lotion, mix a liter of water with a ground avocado kernel. Cook over medium heat for half an hour.
- Filter and use the liquid to rinse your hair after shampooing. It will leave them much softer.
5. As a food supplement
In salads
Ground avocado seed can be eaten with salad, preferably combined with vegetables or with the avocado itself.
- To make a perfect salad in this sense, cut the vegetables and the avocado.
- Sprinkle some avocado kernel powder (previously dried in the oven) on top.
Smoothie

- 2 glasses of almond milk (400 ml)
- 1 bunch of spinach
- 1 stalk of celery
- 1/2 teaspoon of grated avocado seed (5 g)
Preparation
- Pour all the ingredients into the blender and blend until you get a cream without lumps.
- Keep in mind that the avocado seed has a slightly bitter taste: you can sweeten the smoothie with a teaspoon of honey or a little stevia.
In soup or cream
Ingredients
- 2 cups of vegetable stock (500 ml)
- 1 onion
- ½ avocado
Preparation
- First, heat the vegetable broth in a saucepan.
- Chop the onion and then fry it with a drizzle of oil. Once golden, add it to the broth.
- Cut the half avocado into pieces and then add it to the rest.
- Once it has boiled, turn off and blend.
