1. Oats: a slow-absorbing cereal
First of all, we must recognize that when we talk about oats as a “superfood”, there are many reasons to do so. It is rich in numerous vitamins, minerals, amino acids and carbohydrates.
But that’s not all: oats have a high fiber content. This means that it favors intestinal transit and also allows better absorption of nutrients.
- Drinking oat tea before or after meals helps you feel fuller, digest food better and absorb it slowly and adequately.
- We must not forget that this infusion is diuretic, therefore it allows to regulate water retention thanks to an adequate sodium and potassium content.
- Slow absorption always activates the metabolism. Food does not remain stored to produce gas, but everything is absorbed in an adequate and progressive way through the intestine.
- Oats are an anti-inflammatory food, very suitable in case you suffer from irritable bowel.
2. Oat tea relaxes and reduces stress
In addition to helping against a swollen stomach, oats are a very interesting ally for fighting stress and anxiety. It is common for women to lead a very active life: work, home, children, friendships. All this activity ends up overloading the body and mind.
Stress builds up, toxins produced by cortisol are stored, digestion becomes heavy and, at the end of the day, that annoying bloated belly always appears. Do you feel fat? These are water retention, dyspepsia or even irritable colon, very common in cases of stress or anxiety.
